The impact of exercise on me

Exercising became part of my first aid kit when I am in a bad mood or when it seems that  I am not in the mood for anything at all. We all have those days where we just feel like wondering around trying to find the meaning of something...those days where we just want to sit down and eat all day while watching the film of our lives, of our choices... The fastest way to get out of this boring picture is to force myself to move and to exercise, to see people, trying to reconnect my mind and my body, having a good shower afterwards and come back to lead my film again. We could do other things, yoga, singing, boxing,  talking to a friend, shopping, gardening...each person has their own way really, but exercising brings me back to the ground.  Everyone knows its benefits. In the beginning it's harder to have discipline, because it's painful, we awaken muscles we didn't know existed, sometimes we just don't know what to do, which exercises we should do and we anxiously expect to look better in the mirror. I think most of all, exercising should be part of our lifestyle. When it is, we automatically change other things in our life: our eating, sleeping and mental habits and those are the biggest changes and benefits which consequently, have a positive influence in the way we perceive ourselves in the mirror.

I don't know...somehow I am reminding a quote from the Portuguese writer, Fernando Pessoa: "I'd woken up early and took a long time getting ready to exist"
