I confess that I am slightly tired of reading uninspiring and discouraging quotes about ageing and how hard it is to be a woman in Hollywood, especially when you turn 40 or when you turn 30 without having an Oscar in you pocket yet. I love a lot of actors of my age, but I don't watch their movies over and over again like I do when I find movies of Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda or Meryl Streep or Susan Sarandon. Movies from the 80s and from the 90s. I can imagine how hard it must be to age with a camera pointed at you, documenting the whole process, the whole time. You can't escape from it. But at the same time, my references are women in their 40s and 50s and 60s and 80s like Jane Fonda. I look at them and I immediately relax. I think I already mentioned this in a previous post.
I just want to say thank you to Netflix and to all their writers and producers who are creating amazing stories and series like "Grace and Frankie" and proving opportunities and juicy roles for women in their 70s and 80s.
