5 Tips to Rescue my Skin from Spots

Generally, I remove my makeup in the shower. After, I might apply a mask or I might go straight to the serum/ moisturiser.

Am I missing something?

Yes I am!
I am skipping the micellar water.

Am I skipping it because I genuinely  forget it or because I am lazy?

Pretty  much because I am lazy.

There's a price to pay for our laziness. Spots, white heads, lack of skin radiance and smoothness. I'm learning the lesson. My skin suffered an eruption last week due to so many reasons: lack of sleep, stress, too much work and lack of time to prepare healthy meals. It's amazing how your mind and body immediately asks you for sugar, salt and carbs to compensate the stress you're going through and how being so tired stops you from making good and healthy choices for yourself.

My skin is really reactive to food, lack of sleep, stress.... and since I suffered severe acne when I was 22 years old, I am extremely careful when I feel something is not quite right. There was a couple of steps I took last week to rescue my skin from blemishes.

Micellar Water

1. Don't skip the Micellar Water, Lilly!

Exactly, stopping being lazy, stop finding excuses

"oh I ran out of cotton pads!"

I started applying the micellar water and guess what? Spending hours in the shower  doesn't necessary mean you'll get out of there clean.  Even after exfoliating my skin there's still dirt coming out of it when I apply the tonic. The cotton is far from being white and clean. I am using the micellar water from garnier and I am finding out that my skin is still dirty after exfoliating it, cleasing it and spending a long time under the water, which is a surprise for me. So when you're skipping the tonic or the micellar water, you're actually applying moisturizer on top of dirty pores.

Squeezing spots

2. Resist squeezing spots and making scars on your face.

This is very difficult for me but I found another amazing high street product - the sudocream - that I apply all over my face letting it stay while I sleep. I can't promise you'll wake up with a clear skin but what sudocream does for me is to speed up the healing process. It's a strong antiseptic which helps me reducing the pimples, their redness, it literally shrinks them and dries  them.  I hope this truly fantastic and affordable cream helps you too.

Tea Trea

3. Tea Trea! The tea trea range from boots, particularly the exfoliator was really efficient for me. I used it as a mask for about five minutes before removing it. It's so refreshing. Too much actually, to the point that I felt a burning sensation and I decided to remove it straight away. I had squeezed some spots and my skin was slightly broken. I also applied some drops of tea trea oil on my skin but if your skin is broken and extra sensitive, you should avoid this oil.

Go Green

4. Let's go Green! Green Juices, lemon and green soups. Detoxifying your liver is key and "going green" is the answer. I also love mango smoothies and soups with butternut squash and sweet potato. All these fruits and vegetables are highly rich in Vitamin A.

Vitamin A

5. Vitamin  A: Although this point deserves it's own blog post, let me make a little introduction of my most recent beauty choice and addition: a vitamin A cream I bought online. I already  knew the benefits of Vitamin A for our skin - it is a dermis stimulator and therefore it stimulates the production of collagen and the elasticity of our skin. It also regulates the sebum our skin produces.
